Reframing the Thinking

I LOVE my life! Really, I do.

My goal is to live my life until my last breath loving everything in it; I love doing everything I can do make a difference in this world.

I love my love, my family, my friends and all the people that I come into contact with. I love Moving Difference and all the projects that have come before it and the others coming in the future. I love bad movies. I love throwing popcorn.

I love long walks on the beach too. I love sushi. I love all the places I have lived for one reason or another. I love silly dollar store toys. I love a good cause. I love a child’s smile. I love sappy songs. I love pina coladas and getting lost in the rain. I love laughter!

This isn’t a newspaper personal ad though. This is my life. This is who I am.

I love with all my heart and do with my entire mind, body and soul. Every ounce, every breath, every moment.

Okay, you probably are getting that I love a lot and do a lot. And yes I do both. I find that I love more when I think I can’t love it one drop more. I find the same thing happening when doing projects. There have been heartaches, headaches and times that I want to walk away, but I never stopped my love or my ability to do it. I am always working hard and always wanting the best out of life. There is nothing wrong with living life as full as possible. We are all on borrowed time here.

I have been told that my passion, zeal, let’s go, full-throttle and love it/do it attitude drives a few people crazy.  Since starting Moving Difference, there have been a few more emails and conversations about slowing down, not doing so much, not getting so excited, “just another project” and other general negative excuses about not doing the Moving Difference project. Poop on them!

Well, I am going to just deal with these bad vibes right here, right now.

Moving Difference Project is about loving the summer, loving making a difference for others and loving moving.

So it is time to reframe the thinking –

The questions are not “Who can be a difference?” & “Where do I find the time?”

but rather “Who will stop you and me from being a difference?”

I realize that some people might be shocked by this but there is a distinction, between excuses and reasoning, between whining and doing, between just here and living here.

I am not asking to you match my intensity or my love for Moving Difference;

I am asking you to join it.

Side by side.

Get your friends and family involved.

Get yourself involved.

Set aside the excuses, and look at the reasons to make a difference.

There are always excuses not to do something, but there is no reason not to make a difference!! We only live once & TV reruns will wait.

I know that you and I are able to make a difference in some way to our communities over this summer. I know it deep in my heart, and I know you know it too. I know that one hour of volunteering per week can change our lives. I know that I am going to be one of the LOUDEST fans of Moving Difference, right next to you.

I’m not stopping being me for anybody. I’m going to love and do until my last breath and beyond. I am doing everything I can to be a Moving Difference.

I have only just begun doing emails, posters, speaking at meetings & clubs, and even trying to do a friendly bet with a friend that might cause me to have my head shaved (if his team wins with the most volunteers hours!)  Going to the shelters, suiting up to clean a lake, showing up to work a first-aid tent, everything… and Moving Difference hasn’t even started yet. It is only going to get busier and bigger as the summer goes on!!

Yes – I am fired up in a sense but I also want to fire you up as well.

I am asking that you join me on Moving Difference project. I am asking that you and I join with our friends and family be that unstoppable movement of good things in our community. Send out to a few hundred emails to friends, corner your family (I have) into helping, post it on Facebook, tweet it twitter and blog about it.  Get the word out and then let’s do it. One hour per week all summer long being a Moving Difference.

So “Who will stop you and me from being a difference?” – I know my answer is no one not even me – I would really LOVE to have you and your friends & family doing the Moving Difference with us, but your answer is up to you.

The truth of the matter is simple. If today was my last day on this earth, I want to make sure that you know that I thought you were unstoppable too, that you were the greatest person in the world by getting out there & moving, and encourage you to go be that difference. You being you, your ability and potential as a caring human being in our communities are something that I love. I love it deeply. And it is for that reason that I do what I do, with you. I want you to know this even if it wasn’t my last day on earth!!

You deserve the best in life. You deserve to have people believe in you. You deserve to pursue and to be loved. And no matter what your answer is on joining Moving Difference Project, I always believe in you, your family and friends and in our communities. Just like the love of my life tells me every morning – “I love you and there is nothing you do about it! Ha!”

I CAN’T WAIT FOR SUMMER TO START!!!!!

            I AM SOOOOOOOOOO EXCITED!!
