This is the day….

I started this day like I started the day when this project started. I got up and I did.

I skipped breakfast, I called my friend Bixie to say hello, I worked on the projects and the paying gig thing, I had lunch with the love of my life and then I went and served soup at a soup kitchen and I am now in front of this computer getting ready to unplug for the evening.

Of course, there were a few other things, like some interviews, emails, calls and meetings. Actually it has been a pretty full day, but I insisted that I did the same things that I would do even if this day wasn’t special.

Now today is special, today I have the honor of watching the sunset with all of you that have done the Moving Difference project. I have the pleasure of thanking you for doing the hours for getting out and making a difference from June 20, 2012 to today (September 21, 2012).

As of 6pm Central time, the Moving Difference project has logged over 61,381 hours (There are more emails to go through but we are stopping for the night!)

This is your achievement world, I am so proud of you!!

As I type this, I cry. I can’t thank you enough individually or as a group. You are some amazing wonderful people when you put your mind to it. You did it, you are the Moving Difference way beyond my dreams.

Thank you for allowing me to be the shotgun rider on this amazing summer journey with you. It has been a long road but I won’t change a thing. I am honored to be part of this Moving Difference and I will never forget it as long as I live…Thank you….

There are many people to thank – this is the short list – To the love of my life, who endured the most, I love you always. To Esther from the Picayune, you rock and write! You are the best! To Kimmie, thank you for the help with the emails- A million thanks!, to Carol – you are a lifesaver so many times- Thanks!

This entire Moving Difference project wasn’t funded by any corporate sponsors nor donors. This project was simply the human power and time. I have to admit I think that is why Moving Difference is so great and wonderful, it is the people helping people…I tell you this also so you can laugh at the fact that when I purchased a bottle of champagne for tonight’s sunset, I had to dig around in my backpack for loose change to cover it. (Ha!)

In the weeks ahead we will be posting many of the emails we received over the summer of what people did. This amazing project will continue in the people, and onward forever. Oh and it is World Peace Day so here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yRhq-yO1KN8.

Now you will all have to excuse me, but it is time for me to unplug folks, see I got this sunset I have to watch and a few thousand people that I need to think about as I watch the sun burn into a cinder and the sky fade to the twinkling lights…in my heart I will be singing this song… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y5JicO2bKec&feature=related

This is where this cowgirl writes away into the sunset with a grateful heart.

Not goodbye- just so long for a while…
